The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is suspending public fingerprinting services as a precaution amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a news release, the fingerprinting services at both of its headquarters will stop on March 24. The Sheriff’s Office will announce when service resumes.

**Sex offenders and sexual predators are no longer required to report to the county’s correctional facility and are instead asked to report to 6010 Cattleridge Blvd. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for registration. All criminal and career offender registrations will still take place at the Sarasota County Correctional Facility at 2020 Main St. because of legal requirements.

All other in-person law enforcement services remain available, however the Sheriff’s Office says people are strongly encouraged to connect via phone or online at www.sarasotasheriff.org whenever possible. For general inquiries, people can call 941-861-5800. For non-emergencies, call 941-316-1201; call or text 911 in an emergency.
